Announcing a new North OC venue for OCMQG! The Calico House & Cranberry Quiltworks, in Placentia, has graciously opened their doors as a North OC venue and they are excited to welcome OCMQG members. If you have not been to The Calico House, you are in for a big surprise. This quilt shop is bright, full of beautiful fabric, inspiration, and everything the quilters and sewists need. The classroom is large and is equipped with everything to make your sewing experience fun. The ladies who work there are friendly, fun, and always happy to help you. If you don’t see what you are looking for just ask and they will order it for you. Whenever you visit the shop, tell them you are an OCMQG member and give them a big “Thank You!”
We'll begin with Guild business followed with the Mystery Sew or Free Sew. Members can choose to work on their own project or participate in the “Mystery Sew” that Darly is organizing.
Since it is a Mystery, we don’t want to reveal the finished project however it'll be fun, fast and easy with plenty of opportunity to make it yours.
Please leave your RSVP and a comment if you plan to participate in the Mystery Sew so we can set up the room appropriately and send the supply list.

Comment by Darly Dulion on August 13, 2012 at 9:29am What a great turnout to the first North OCMQG Meeting/Mystery Sew. I am glad you are excited to have The Calico House & Cranberry Quiltworks as your local Host site. Thank you to the owners, Cindy & Larry.
It was great fun to teach all of you Scrappity Doo Dah and see how much you were enjoying the process :-) I took my camera but was focused on directions for the quilt and forgot to take pictures. Everyone had such great fabric choices, they are all going to be so unique.
I HOPE YOU BRING your blocks to the next meeting for Show & Tell or take a picture and post here :-)
sorry to miss but i have a family event. look forward to seeing pics of the mystery project.
I'll be there for the meeting but will have to leave at about 2, so no Mystery sew for me.
Hi, all! I'm sorry to have to cancel. We have to attend my niece's 21st birthday party up in LA. Have fun!
Comment by Darly Dulion on August 8, 2012 at 2:56pm Hi Dara and everyone attending this Sunday. I am very excited about the Mystery Sew. I've been working on my blocks this week and they are fabulous if I do say so myself. It's all about the fabric. Choose colors and patterns you love and you won't be disappointed. I chose two floral bundles in bright colors and I'm very pleased with the outcome. Wish I could show you all, but then it wouldn't be a mystery. :-)
Comment by Dara McLaughlin on August 8, 2012 at 2:02pm I would like to do the mystery sew. :)

Comment by Regan Rothery on July 27, 2012 at 4:44pm If I come, it will just be to sew one of the tom of projects I've got currently on the burners. :) I hope I can make it. :)
